Financial statements are the core reports companies use to show how the business is performing and what it owns, owes, earns, and spends. The main financial statements are the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement. Public companies also provide notes and supporting explanations.

These reports are the backbone of company analysis. If a user understands the major statements, they can read most business results with much more confidence.
